Use the Jameson Live Tracer™ Traceable Rodder with an electrofusion insertion tee to locate live gas mains with no blow-by. Connect a transmitter to the Live Tracer™ to energize the unit with a specific frequency. When the energized rod is pushed into the pipe, the signal radiates to the surface, where a receiver detects the frequency. The entire buried pipe can be traced and marked continuously from above ground by one man without digging.
