Butt Fusion and Electrofusion Machines
High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe is used throughout the world in the transport of fluids and gas. Due to its toughness, corrosion and chemical resistance, low weight, and cost-effectiveness, HDPE pipe has grown in popularity and been used since the 1950’s. During construction and maintenance, HDPE pipe can be joined in a variety of ways, including through the use of butt fusion and electrofusion machines. In the butt fusion process, PE pipe is fused directly onto each other. During electrofusion, the pipe is joined together through the use of a fitting. The location and type of job being performed normally dictates which process serves best.
Butt Fusion Machines
At EGW Gas solutions, we supply butt fusion equipment from Ritmo, including the Delta 250 trailer and the Delta 160 M. The Delta 250 is a self-aligning hydraulic butt fusion machine, suitable for fusing HDPE pipes for water, gas and other fluids up to 8” IPS. With a trailer-mounted machine body, the Delta 250 is easily removable from the trolley in order to also perform in trenches, adapting to conditions on the job site.
The Delta 160 M is a compact, lightweight, highly versatile butt fusion machine capable of fusing pipe sizes from 1″ – 5″ IPS. The machine is designed to butt fuse tees, elbows and other fittings with consistent high quality results.
Electrofusion Machine
For electrofusion, we carry the versatile and reliable MSA 340 from GFCP. Sophisticated electrofusion technology with simple, intuitive operation, the MSA 340 offers custom configuration to support your work flow perfectly. In addition, it has the ability to record GPS data and encompasses numerous features which support safety, speed and reliability.
